The Story of Christmas Art Exhibition

More than 800 entries were received from Year 5 and Year 6 students from Catholic and Public schools in the Archdiocese of Sydney and the Diocese of Wollongong, with 93 finalists selected for the The Story of Christmas Art Exhibition.

Claudia Hopkins, with her artwork, "Wanted in the Mist", was amongst a very talented group of students who were selected as finalists.

At the opening of the exhibition, in the crypt at St Mary's Cathedral, Claudia was presented with the Catholic Weekly award for the artwork best depicting the concept of 'journey'.

Congratulations Claudia! Your talent and hard work deserves such recognition.

Day of Australian Excellence

Mrs Tucker and I could not have been prouder of our Year 6 students today as they demonstrated many of the "Habits of Mind" during the Australian Day of Excellence. Every student researched an Australian person who has changed the world for the better. Speeches and stalls were simply outstanding. Teachers and classes commented on how much they learned as they visited each stall. The Year 6 students were extremely confident with the delivery of their research to the ears of interested listeners. Many thanks to the school sponsor 'Ray White' for the three book voucher prizes. The day concluded with our award ceremony. Well done Year 6! :-) Great work!

Italian Day

The Italian flag flew proudly over Sacred Heart today. Deliziozo gelato flowed and buoni films were viewed. Year Six got into the spirit of the day by dressing in an Italian theme. A fantastico time was had by all. Ben fatto and grazie Signore James!
